Murco Oil Refinery Shutdown (T&I) 2010

Prior to the T&I SHS erected in excess of 2000 scaffolds this totalled 58,000 man hours.

On the 28th of February the shutdown began SHS had 148 men on site. Their primary goal was to offer specialised access and egress to the mechanical operation whilst facilitating the MEX 2010 project.

129,040 man hours have now been executed by SHS with no serious incidents or first aid treatment.

Murco will be back in action at the end of April; this will leave SHS to dismantle the scaffold erected for the shutdown and get on with the routine maintenance package.

 Dow Corning Shutdown 2010

The Dow Corning Shut down commenced a week earlier than planned on the 6th April and is programmed to run until 14th May 10.

This sudden change in plan meant that SHS had to react fast and mobilise addition operatives to deal with the increase, the workforce presently stands at 75 and with over 1000 scaffolds standing on site (some can be seen below)this is quite a large undertaking.

To date there have been no incidents of note and SHS are working closely with Dow, BOC and NPOWER COGEN to ensure a safe and timely conclusion.
