SHS SCAFFOLDING

The role of Occupational Health and Safety within the workplace has significantly increased in prominence in recent times. SHS has embraced this uplift and our statistics are the most effective means of demonstrating management commitment and support to our Health and Safety Policy. The prescriptive standards of the past are now being replaced by a management - orientated approach.

We recognise and accept our responsibilities for the provision and maintenance of a safe and healthy environment, equipment and safe systems of work, and for taking steps that are reasonably practicable to achieve these objectives. We also recognise the need for, and are committed to, the provision of such support, information, training and supervision, as is needed for that purpose.

SHS shall continue to document, implement, maintain and continually improve its Occupational Health and Safety Management System, committed to the prevention of injury and ill health.

For our Health and Safety Policy to be effective we command the support of all management and employees. After all - it is ourselves who stand to benefit from its success.

In Dec 09 SHS were highly commended at the NASC Health and Safety Awards

This reinforces the effectiveness of the SHS health and safety management system and helps to highlight the SHS principle that nothing is more important than the health, safety and well being of our employees. We are very proud that we do everything in our organisation to provide an environment that enables the whole workforce to participate and work collaboratively in developing, promoting and improving occupational health and safety.
